Synopsis: The title of a very old but truly meaningful song to many but beyond the song there is a powerful message to all of us about how we are to live our lives. Join us for the first of three sermons about how not to be a person you do not want to be. By looking at the title, the first point is obvious.
Synopsis: Our moms can mean many different things to each of us. I am fortunate to have a lot of very good and positive memories of my mother. She certainly was self-sacrificing for her family up until her death. Yet not everyone has the same memories of their mom as I do. However, scripture tells us we are to honor our mothers. The gave us life, they many times did the best they could with their circumstances and made sacrifices that may have gone unnoticed. Join us on Mother’s Day, as we remember our moms and those special ladies in our lives who may-be step in when mom could not be there or be at her best.
Synopsis: In his ministry here on Earth, Jesus, the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us, was the physical embodiment of God. Doing the work of God with the heart of God. God made visible. As his disciples and as his church, the Body of Christ, his physical presence here on earth, we are called, commanded, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the embodiment of Jesus who lives in us. Doing the work of Christ with the heart of Christ. Christ made visible.
Synopsis: Many of us will face a time when God invites us into something. Yet we will not feel like we are ready to step forward. Our past may make us feel unworthy of God’s plans for us. But God’s grace and mighty power go far beyond our shame and fear.
Synopsis: Jesus called us to live generously. But how do we do that? Join us as we explore how we can support and show love to people in our community and across the world in their times of need.
Synopsis: Active love isn’t just a gushy feeling we feel. It is when we act and place others’ needs above our own. Today we will discuss how we can we act and show God’s sacrificial love to others? It isn’t all that hard or intended to be that expensive.
