Summary: When accused by my children for being wrong, I enjoyed replying sarcastically “Once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.” Perfect I wasn’t, and neither were the criminals who hung with Jesus at His crucifixion. But one of them WAS “mistaken”.

Sermon Title: ‘Celebrating Sin’

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7: 12-14, Psalm 90: 7-9
Recommended scriptures and message prior to taking Communion or celebrating Easter in 2020. King David admitted “God, you know what I have done wrong; I cannot hide my guilt from you.” (Psalm 69:5) Paul cautions us from taking Holy Communion “in an unworthy manner” (I Corin.11:27-34). When we know we’ve sinned, but reject repentance, that’s pride-induced sin. But God is able to provide hope to the most decadent culture.
