Sermon from 17 October 2021

Sermon Title: “Showing Up (Participation)”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Acts 2:42-47, 1 Cor. 12:27, Eph. 5:18-19
Synopsis: We all know what it’s like to feel disconnected – from a person, from a community, and even from God. But there are practical ways to get back on track when it comes to reconnecting with God and others. This is the way back.

Sermon from 03 October 2021

Sermon Title: “Love Feast Weekend”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: John 13:1-17
Synopsis: This is the annual “World Wide Communion Sunday” as believers from every part of the world share in the elements of the Bread and the Cup to observe the broken body and shed blood of Christ. In Brethren Church around the world, the “Love Feast” service is observed either as part of the morning worship experience or later in the day. With Covid-19 the practice of the Love Feast was slowed last year by many congregations around the world. As our deacon’s make final preparations for the weekend, we will keep you informed on the decision whether we will hold the traditional “Love Feast” Service in the late afternoon or a simple bread and cup service as part of morning worship.

Sermon from 26 September 2021

Sermon Title: “Faithful in the Moment”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: II Cor. 12:7-10, Acts 6:1-6
Synopsis: Some of us feel unqualified because of what we’ve done, but some feel unqualified because of what we’ve missed. When we get bogged down by the “thens” or “whens” in our lives, we leave no room for God to work in our NOW. Are you choosing to be faithful in the moment you’re in?

Sermon from 05 September 2021

Sermon Title: “Keeping Score”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Psalm 103, 2 Samuel 11,12, Psalm 51
Synopsis: The idea that God is a scorekeeper, constantly keeping track of our sin, keeps us from knowing the truth about how he views us. While justice condemns the wrong and the wrongdoer, God removes our sin so that he can condemn the sin, but love us. When we realize this, we can begin to truly experience the forgiveness he has given us—and see the true image of God through the distortion.
