In honor of Brethren Volunteer Service’s 75th Anniversary, the Carlisle First Church of the Brethren announces a special program on BVS at the church on Sunday, March 26th from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Burr Beard served in BVS in 1972-1973 as a conscientious objector and is the host for this event.
With special guests, former and currently serving volunteers in attendance, Beard will conduct interviews to illuminate the history of the past 75 years of BVS and it’s current status in terms of opportunities for high school and college graduates, and volunteers of at least age 18.
