Synopsis: In his ministry here on Earth, Jesus, the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us, was the physical embodiment of God. Doing the work of God with the heart of God. God made visible. As his disciples and as his church, the Body of Christ, his physical presence here on earth, we are called, commanded, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the embodiment of Jesus who lives in us. Doing the work of Christ with the heart of Christ. Christ made visible.
Synopsis: Many of us will face a time when God invites us into something. Yet we will not feel like we are ready to step forward. Our past may make us feel unworthy of God’s plans for us. But God’s grace and mighty power go far beyond our shame and fear.
Synopsis: Jesus called us to live generously. But how do we do that? Join us as we explore how we can support and show love to people in our community and across the world in their times of need.
Synopsis: Active love isn’t just a gushy feeling we feel. It is when we act and place others’ needs above our own. Today we will discuss how we can we act and show God’s sacrificial love to others? It isn’t all that hard or intended to be that expensive.
Synopsis: What in the world has happened? They saw him die. They took the body down and put it in the grave. The Romans came and sealed the tomb. Now everything is in chaos. It had to have something of that feel the morning of the resurrection. Jesus had talked about the resurrection being true but we never gave it much thought. Now it has happened. Our people have seen him! It is the clearest evidence; Jesus has been raised. We do not believe it because it is a story in the Bible, we believe it because it has happened. Once He was dead and now, he is alive!
Synopsis: Palm Sunday tends to be an exciting time. We have palm branch we wave, we sing glorious songs commemorating the entrance of Jesus into the Holy City of Jerusalem, we in some sense want to identify with Jesus as he gets the praise and warm welcome of the people. However, Palm Sunday is also a day, more than any other, where we see a tremendous shift in the direction and momentum of the Christ’s journey toward the cross. Considering our Love Feast held that evening, I will use the morning service as a time of examination/reflection. How well do we “remember” what Christ has done for us and how well do we allow it to comfort us in the low moments of our walk and motivate us in our everyday life.
