Sermon from 31 August 2025

Sermon Title: “Sins Kills”

Pastor: Doug Miller

Scriptures: Genesis 3:1-7

Synopsis: As we continue our series on doctrines of the church, today we look at the “Fall”. It can be summed up in a single phrase. What I want right now, kills what I want the most. When we sin we are deceived, damaged, defeated, and detach ourselves from our efforts to get what we want most. Sin also causes us to be afraid to be vulnerable with God. Therefore, when God shows up, we don’t and we miss out on what He wants to do in our lives.

Sermon Title: “DIY Evangelism”

Pastor: Doug Miller

Scriptures: Luke 4:8-26

Synopsis: Today we will look at the most proficient way for most of us to do evangelism. It doesn’t require us to have all the answers to other people’s questions nor does it requires us to look down on them if they don’t seem to understand us. Instead, we look to Jesus to help us look, listen and share grace as we share His story.

Sermon from 10 August 2025

Sermon Title: “It Is All About the ?”

Pastor: Doug Miller

Scriptures: Luke 8:5-15

Synopsis: Three gospels tell about the sower, the seed and the soil. All remind us we are to be planting seed but nowhere does it hold us responsible for growing the seed. So, we are to go everywhere to see the seed is sown is leave the rest up to God.

Sermon from 03 August 2025

Sermon Title: “Here for a Purpose”
Pastor: Linda Maifair
Scriptures: Genesis 1:26
Synopsis: As my wise furnace repairman once told me, “The Good Lord didn’t create us to be jerks.” So why DID the Good Lord create us? Whether as human beings, as Christians, or as a Christian church, we are here on purpose, for a purpose.

Sermon from 27 July 2025

Sermon Title: “Perfection”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Matthew 5:48, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Synopsis: Your ego is not your best friend. Egos have a way of getting too big, causing us to strive for things that are impossible. Yet we don’t realize it and we think if I try harder or hang in longer I can do the impossible! Eventually, we begin to think if I can’t do the impossible, I will not be fully loved. But it is in admitting we can’t do the impossible that God loves us, see us for who and what we are. When we realize God loves as we are, He can change us so we are not what we think we are but who He wants us to be.

Sermon from 20 July 2025

Sermon Title: “Culture Wars”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Ephesians 6:10-12
Synopsis: We are to have passion with our convictions and compassion on those who we are hope to accept the general principles of scripture. Unfortunately, we must recognize the difference. Culture wars develop when we begin to expect everyone to follow our convictions rather than accepting the general principles of scriptures. The result is culture wars can cause to demonize one side. We miss the mark when we fail to recognize we are in a war and fail to recognize the real enemy.
