Sermon Title: “Living With The End In Mind”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Psalm 1:1-6
Synopsis:

Did you ever watch a movie from the end to the beginning? It always turns out to be a very different story. What is true of a movie that starts at the end and runs to the beginning can in many ways be true of our own lives as well. If we think about how we want our lives to end, we will many times make decisions earlier in our lives to set up the ending we have in mind. When we do life in that way, life becomes more than just going through the motions. Rather we become more intentional about what we do and how we do it. Join us as we think more about that approach to life and how it may affect how you approach your daily activities.

Sermon Title: “Remembering A Promise From God”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: I Cor. 23-29
Synopsis:

A lot has happened in the past year for all of us. But today we start a new year. A new beginning. God uses specific times and situations to remind us of what He has brought us through and His faithfulness to us. Share the elements of communion provide such a time and a place for that. To remember our messes, remember God’s sacrifice and remind us what God has done for us and to accept it. Remembering also God walks with us daily to bring order to the chaos and assurance in all we do.

Sermon Title: “Unwrapped – 3 – Myrrh”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Matthew 2:1-12
Synopsis: The third gift the wise-men brought was myrrh. It was and is an embalming fluid. It represents for us that Jesus is the eternal sacrifice. It is every human’s plight to die but it was Jesus’ purpose to die. His death changed how we can apply a new understanding to our own circumstances. It means hope can even be experienced even when someone dies who means much to us. Once again, Jesus would be a different kind of sacrifice.

Sermon from 14 December 2025

Sermon Title: “Unwrapped – 2 – Frankincense”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Matthew 2:1-12
Synopsis: The second gift given by the wise-men was Frankincense. It represented Jesus was the eternal priest. The Latin word for priest is pontiffs which means “I am the bridge.” Meaning Jesus would build a bridge between pain and promise, God and creation, grace and disgrace. Jesus wasn’t coming to offer a sacrifice but to be the sacrifice. Once again Jesus would be a different kind of priest.

Sermon from 07 December 2025

Sermon Title: “Unwrapped – 1 – Gold”
Pastor: Doug Miller
Scriptures: Matthew 2:1-12
Synopsis: The wise men bring with them three gifts to give the baby Jesus. Each one is expensive but more so they are emblematic. Each one meant something and were important in the life and story of Jesus. They represent the fact that Jesus was an eternal king. A different kind of king; not one that would Lord over others, rather in His dominion He would demand. It showed He would be a different kind of King, one whose kingdom would last forever!
