Theology is the study of God. We-ology is not really a word but for our purposes, we
will use it to describe the groups of people that make up the community of God followers. We will talk about why we need to be plugged into a church. Why we are stronger as a group than as individual people. How our world can be a different place if we truly value the role of our group. And what we look like when we-ology includes not only the study of the “we” but how the “we” interacts with our theology of God.
God has modeled for us a pattern of work and rest. He has commanded us to follow that pattern. He invites us to find rest in him. So why do we rest less, and become more restless, at the time?
Did you ever watch a movie from the end to the beginning? It always turns out to be a very different story. What is true of a movie that starts at the end and runs to the beginning can in many ways be true of our own lives as well. If we think about how we want our lives to end, we will many times make decisions earlier in our lives to set up the ending we have in mind. When we do life in that way, life becomes more than just going through the motions. Rather we become more intentional about what we do and how we do it. Join us as we think more about that approach to life and how it may affect how you approach your daily activities.
A lot has happened in the past year for all of us. But today we start a new year. A new beginning. God uses specific times and situations to remind us of what He has brought us through and His faithfulness to us. Share the elements of communion provide such a time and a place for that. To remember our messes, remember God’s sacrifice and remind us what God has done for us and to accept it. Remembering also God walks with us daily to bring order to the chaos and assurance in all we do.
