The last “party” we want to look at, Jesus is there but in the form of the Holy Spirit. A couple had sold a piece of property to assist with the needs of the church. The only problem was they wanted to hold some money back without people knowing. Peter (the head of that church) asks the couple about whether this was the real amount made on the sale. They both lie and as a result they both die in Peter’s presence. The account is not about money; it is about motive. What would make someone lie about something to the church to make themselves look better? The point is God always meets us at our most honest point. When we are not honest God cannot do what He wants to do in us. So being fake kills, being real heals. Join us as we look at our own motives and our willingness to be honest with God.
